The Science Week began on the 2nd of July, 2016 with the purpose of nurturing scientific temperament among students. The week was kick-started by the junior quiz which was conducted on the first day of the Science Week. The assemblies held during the week were content-rich and covered many topics like aviation, futuristic science, teleportation and particle physics which triggered the students' curiosity.
The Principal, Mr. Santanu Das, explained to the students the advancement of science between Newton's and Neil Bohr's era. There was a lot to grasp through the talks of some ISC professors. The likes of Dr. Abu Backer, Dr. Sagarika Roy, Mrs. Bonnerjee and Mr. Khincha also spoke on many topics like energy and sustainable development. The Physics workshop and working robotic models were a major area of interest for students.
The week-long expedition into the realms of science was certainly one to be remembered. Science surely cannot be learned in a week, but this week did give the students the motivation to venture into this stream of life — one which is the basis of all the elements in this universe.
