Nirupam Karthik Pratapgiri

Class of 2016 at SBA

Nirupam is from Class of 2016 at SBA. He got his IB Diploma with Music as the major elective subject. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from Berklee College of Music, Boston with an undergrad in Professional Music. He went on to earn a Master of Science (MS) in Music Industry (Summa Cum laude), from USC Thornton School of Music, California. 

He is an accomplished guitarist and is well-versed in classical, rock, blues, jazz, and various contemporary genres. He is also an Associate (ATCL) of Trinity College London, where he earned a distinction in classical guitar. He is well versed in music theory, harmony, ear training, and other core music areas.

He has worked in several areas of the Music Industry including A&R, booking, creative synch, artist management, and music supervision. He’s currently Artist Manager at Red Light Management, Los Angeles and works very closely with their Rock roster. Some of the clientele include Slash, Rival Sons, Stone Temple Pilots, Evanescence, The White Buffalo, Billy Talent, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. 

Nirupam worked in the creative synch department at BMG Rights Management LLC where we took part in active licensing deals and placements. Some of the clients he’s worked with are NFL, Amazon Studios, and Major League Baseball. 

He was also a music editor for the documentary “Numbers” and is the music coordinator for an upcoming Hollywood film ‘Man in The White Van”. He also worked closely with Ben Harper at his record label Mad Bunny Records and had a joint role at BDM Media where he did a lot of publicity work for Ringo Starr (star drummer of Beatles), Paul Simon (from Simon & Garfunkel fame), and Joe Walsh (from the famous Eagles rock band). 

Nirupam worked closely with Emily White in her project, “iVoted Concerts”, the biggest live-streaming concert of 2020, where he was in the digital marketing and graphic design department overseeing teams in multiple time zones. 

He has been featured as an artist management expert at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles and other prominent panels to promote music.
