Poetry Recitation

On 4th February, 2017, the inter-class poetry recitation competition took place amongst the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Grades. The grades took part in the English poetry recitation, followed by the Hindi poetry recitation.

The judges for the competition were Rohin Joseph, Sutapa Mukherjee, and Ritu Negi. There were three categories — fifth and sixth grades in the first category, 7A and 7B in the second category and 8A, B and C in the third category. The topics for the English and Hindi recitation were ‘Personality’ and ‘Veer Ras’ respectively.

Students rendered eloquent recitations of renowned poems like ‘The Pig’, ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ and ‘The Pied Piper’ in English, and poems like ‘Vipagdh’ in Hindi. The competition commenced at noon sharp and carried on for two hours. The day also included enriching speeches by Rohin Joseph and KK Mishra. While Mr. Joseph addressed the gathering on what an ideal poem should consist of, Dr. Mishra apprised the students of the different perspectives in which winning and losing can be seen.
